Nandā, see this bag of bones as “Āturaṁ asuciṁ pūtiṁ, diseased, filthy, and rotten. passa nande samussayaṁ; With mind unified and serene, Asubhāya cittaṁ bhāvehi, meditate on the ugly aspects of the body. ekaggaṁ susamāhitaṁ.

Meditate on the signless, Animittañca bhāvehi, give up the tendency to conceit; mānānusayamujjaha; and when you comprehend conceit, Tato mānābhisamayā, you will live at peace. upasantā carissasī”ti.

That is how the Buddha regularly advised the trainee nun Nandā with these verses.
