56.27. Actual
āBhikkhus, there are these Four Noble Truths. What four? The noble truth of suffering, the noble truth of the origin of suffering, the noble truth of the cessation of suffering, the noble truth of the way leading to the cessation of suffering. These Four Noble Truths, bhikkhus, are actual, unerring, not otherwise. Therefore they are called noble truths.
āTherefore, bhikkhus, an exertion should be made to understand: āThis is suffering.ā⦠An exertion should be made to understand: āThis is the way leading to the cessation of suffering.āā
