Focus, the Interior, and the End of Relishing Ajjhattaaniccanandikkhayasutta

ā€œMendicants, rationally apply the mind to the eye. Truly see the impermanence of the eye. ā€œCakkhuṁ, bhikkhave, yoniso manasi karotha, cakkhāniccataƱca yathābhÅ«taṁ samanupassatha. When a mendicant does this, they grow disillusioned with the eye. Cakkhuṁ, bhikkhave, bhikkhu yoniso manasikaronto, cakkhāniccataƱca yathābhÅ«taṁ samanupassanto cakkhusmimpi nibbindati. When relishing ends, greed ends. When greed ends, relishing ends. Nandikkhayā rāgakkhayo; rāgakkhayā nandikkhayo. When relishing and greed end, the mind is said to be well freed. Nandirāgakkhayā cittaṁ suvimuttanti vuccati.

Rationally apply the mind to the ear … Sotaṁ, bhikkhave, yoniso manasi karotha … nose … ghānaṁ … tongue … jivhaṁ, bhikkhave, yoniso manasi karotha, jivhāniccataƱca yathābhÅ«taṁ samanupassatha. Jivhaṁ, bhikkhave, bhikkhu yoniso manasikaronto, jivhāniccataƱca yathābhÅ«taṁ samanupassanto jivhāyapi nibbindati. Nandikkhayā rāgakkhayo; rāgakkhayā nandikkhayo.
