“Mendicants, I will teach you about the gods of the thundercloud host. “Valāhakakāyike vo, bhikkhave, deve desessāmi. Listen … Taṁ suṇātha.

And what are the gods of the thundercloud host? Katame ca, bhikkhave, valāhakakāyikā devā? There are gods of the cool thunderclouds, Santi, bhikkhave, sītavalāhakā devā; warm thunderclouds, santi uṇhavalāhakā devā; stormy thunderclouds, santi abbhavalāhakā devā; windy thunderclouds, santi vātavalāhakā devā; and rainy thunderclouds. santi vassavalāhakā devā—These are called gods of the thundercloud host.” ime vuccanti, bhikkhave, ‘valāhakakāyikā devā’”ti.
