Brittle Pabhaṅgusutta
At Sāvatthī. Sāvatthinidānaṁ.
“Mendicants, I will teach you what is brittle and what is not brittle. “Pabhaṅguñca, bhikkhave, desessāmi appabhaṅguñca. Listen … Taṁ suṇātha.
And what is brittle? What is not brittle? Kiñca, bhikkhave, pabhaṅgu, kiṁ appabhaṅgu? Form is brittle, Rūpaṁ, bhikkhave, pabhaṅgu. but its cessation, settling, and ending is not brittle. Yo tassa nirodho vūpasamo atthaṅgamo, idaṁ appabhaṅgu.
Feeling … Vedanā pabhaṅgu. Yo tassā nirodho vūpasamo atthaṅgamo, idaṁ appabhaṅgu. perception … Saññā pabhaṅgu … choices … saṅkhārā pabhaṅgu. Yo tesaṁ nirodho vūpasamo atthaṅgamo, idaṁ appabhaṅgu. consciousness is brittle, Viññāṇaṁ pabhaṅgu. but its cessation, settling, and ending is not brittle.” Yo tassa nirodho vūpasamo atthaṅgamo, idaṁ appabhaṅgū”ti.

Tassuddānaṁ
Bhāraṁ pariññaṁ abhijānaṁ, chandarāgaṁ catutthakaṁ; Assādā ca tayo vuttā, abhinandanamaṭṭhamaṁ; Uppādaṁ aghamūlañca, ekādasamo pabhaṅgūti.
