A Monk Bhikkhusutta

ā€œMendicants, a monk with five qualities is placed in hell as if delivered there. ā€œPaƱcahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ niraye. What five? Katamehi paƱcahi? He kills living creatures, steals, has sex, lies, and consumes intoxicants of beer, wine, and liquor. PāṇātipātÄ« hoti, adinnādāyÄ« hoti, abrahmacārÄ« hoti, musāvādÄ« hoti, surāmerayamajjapamādaį¹­į¹­hāyÄ« hoti. A monk with these five qualities is placed in hell as if delivered there. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, paƱcahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ niraye.

A monk with five qualities is placed in heaven as if delivered there. PaƱcahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ sagge. What five? Katamehi paƱcahi? He doesn’t kill living creatures, steal, have sex, lie, or consume intoxicants of beer, wine, and liquor. Pāṇātipātā paį¹­ivirato hoti, adinnādānā paį¹­ivirato hoti, abrahmacariyā paį¹­ivirato hoti, musāvādā paį¹­ivirato hoti, surāmerayamajjapamādaį¹­į¹­hānā paį¹­ivirato hoti. A monk with these five qualities is placed in heaven as if delivered there.ā€ Imehi kho, bhikkhave, paƱcahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ saggeā€ti.
