Visiting Families (2nd) Dutiyakulūpakasutta

ā€œMendicants, there are these five drawbacks for a mendicant who visits families for too long, mixing closely with them. ā€œPaƱcime, bhikkhave, ādÄ«navā kulÅ«pakassa bhikkhuno ativelaṁ kulesu saṁsaį¹­į¹­hassa viharato. What five? Katame paƱca? You often see members of the opposite sex. Mātugāmassa abhiṇhadassanaṁ, Seeing them, you become close. dassane sati saṁsaggo, Being so close, you become intimate. saṁsagge sati vissāso, Being intimate, lust overcomes you. vissāse sati otāro, When your mind is swamped by lust, you can expect that you will lead the spiritual life dissatisfied, or commit one of the corrupt offenses, or resign the training and return to a lesser life. otiṇṇacittassetaṁ pāṭikaį¹…khaṁ: ā€˜anabhirato vā brahmacariyaṁ carissati aƱƱataraṁ vā saį¹…kiliį¹­į¹­haṁ āpattiṁ āpajjissati sikkhaṁ vā paccakkhāya hÄ«nāyāvattissati’. These are the five drawbacks for a mendicant who visits families for too long, mixing closely with them.ā€ Ime kho, bhikkhave, paƱca ādÄ«navā kulÅ«pakassa bhikkhuno ativelaṁ kulesu saṁsaį¹­į¹­hassa viharatoā€ti.
