“There are these two kinds of sympathy. “Dvemā, bhikkhave, anukampā. What two? Katamā dve? Sympathy in things of the flesh and sympathy in the teaching. Āmisānukampā ca dhammānukampā ca. These are the two kinds of sympathy. Imā kho, bhikkhave, dve anukampā. The better of these two kinds of sympathy is sympathy in the teaching.” Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imāsaṁ dvinnaṁ anukampānaṁ yadidaṁ dhammānukampā”ti.
