20. The Path Maggavagga
PaƱcasatabhikkhuvatthu
Of paths, the eightfold is the best; MaggÄnaį¹į¹haį¹ giko seį¹į¹ho, of truths, the four statements; saccÄnaį¹ caturo padÄ; dispassion is the best of things, VirÄgo seį¹į¹ho dhammÄnaį¹, and the Clear-eyed One is the best of humans. dvipadÄnaƱca cakkhumÄ.
This is the path, there is no other Eseva maggo natthaƱƱo, for the purification of vision. Dassanassa visuddhiyÄ; You all must practice this, EtaƱhi tumhe paį¹ipajjatha, it is the way to baffle MÄra. MÄrassetaį¹ pamohanaį¹.

Dukkhalakkhaį¹avatthu

PadhÄnakammikatissattheravatthu

PaƱcamahallakabhikkhuvatthu

So long as the vine, no matter how small, YÄva hi vanatho na chijjati, that ties a man to women is not cut, Aį¹umattopi narassa nÄrisu; his mind remains trapped, Paį¹ibaddhamanova tÄva so, like a calf suckling its mother. Vaccho khÄ«rapakova mÄtari.
Suvaį¹į¹akÄrattheravatthu
Cut out affection for oneself, Ucchinda sinehamattano, like plucking an autumn lotus. Kumudaį¹ sÄradikaį¹va pÄį¹inÄ; Foster only the path to peace, Santimaggameva brÅ«haya, the extinguishment the Holy One taught. NibbÄnaį¹ sugatena desitaį¹.
MahÄdhanavÄį¹ijavatthu

KisÄgotamÄ«vatthu

Paį¹ÄcÄrÄvatthu
Children provide you no shelter, Na santi puttÄ tÄį¹Äya, nor does father, nor relatives. na pitÄ nÄpi bandhavÄ; When youāre seized by the terminator, AntakenÄdhipannassa, thereās no shelter in family. natthi ƱÄtÄ«su tÄį¹atÄ.
